Paid Users Locked Out, even as Free Accounts Continue to Dominate

Overwhelmed by demand,
OpenAI continues to prioritize Free Accounts

ChatGPT, the popular language model trained by OpenAI, has been hit with a unprecedented deluge of requests, leading to reduced access for everyone, even paid users.

According to reports, the platform rate limiting even paid users to as low as 30-50 questions per day, with many being locked out entirely today

However, the doors are still open for new, free users who have not yet become addicted to the platform. This strategy, while frustrating for paid users, is a clever way for ChatGPT to hook new users with a taste of its capabilities.

Despite the challenges, ChatGPT remains a valuable tool for those in the AI community, offering a powerful language model for a range of applications. It remains to be seen how the platform will adapt to the surge in usage and what steps it will actually take to ensure fair access for all users.
